Landscapes
Traveling in New England and the rest of the U.S. I am constantly reminded of how varied is the American landscape, from the lush Northeast to the steamy Southeast to the desert Southwest to the often mountainous Northwest. Differing flora and fauna, enormously different topography. So much to explore.

Mount Rainier in Washington state is a massive, 14,411-foot-high, snow-covered presence easily seen from 60 or more miles away. This image of the summit was taken from the road to the Visitor Center in Mount Rainier National Park.
